I'LL GO ALL ARTS AND CRAFTS ON YOU!

Now with ECON1101 finished, I'm mildly free to do all the things that make me happy. Which usually doesn't involve other people. Keke. Mind you, for my microeconomics finals, I slept for HALF AN HOUR the night before (not studying, although I tried; I just sat in my bed for 8 hours. Talk about killer insomnia). Then when I went into the exam hall, I fell asleep during my exam. Woke up thinking WTF where am I? And why do I smell like horse-shit?

[Note: UNSW makes us do exams at the Randwick Racecourse, where the joyful smell of horse excrement wafts through the air as you try to recall what the frak Coase Theorem is and how it is relevant to your life.]

Anyway, with half my exams finished, I'm free to do random stuff! Like make things! I like making things! I wonder why. Actually, no I don't.

I made.....

1) A mask for my No-Face cosplay:

Does this not look amazing? It's supposed to look like this. I made it out of paper-mâché. I'm so crafty, I know! I didn't know it would dry so freakin hard so I had to make eye-holes using a hand drill! LOL. I can't wait to finish the costume.

2) A totally edible sugarpaste TIGER-LILY!

made my own sugar paste from icing sugar, gelatine and glucose (if you need a recipe ask; I'm feeling too lazy to write it). But they turn out pretty. I didn't have any stamens so it looks kinda empty in the middle. I'll need more experience.

3) A MAGICAL CAKE!

HEHE. Doesn't this look like it belongs in one of those claymation movies? Wallace and Gromit's wedding cake. Haha. I was just having a bit too much fun with fondant and food colouring.

Ah. That was fun to write about. Now I have to get back to studying finance. My exam is tomorrow and I am procrastinating! My uncle came from Singapore and I didn't get to go out with the family with my cousin COS OF DAMN EXAMS.

*Sigh*. Maybe next time...

Another random day at uni...

On Friday, after an oh-so-boring Maths1151 lecture (with oh-so-exciting calculus and algebra) which I got to 15 minutes late cos my brother slept in instead of sending me by car (I usually take public transport, mind you) a guy I kind of know, well talked to once, invited me back to his room (he lives on campus) so I was like cool, ok! Fair enough. Later, as in today, I told this to my school friend over MSN:

Him:

hi

Me:

helloo

[mandatory awkward silence I feel obliged to fill-in.]

i went to this guys room
he lives in campus
it was so small loll

Him:

lol
y would u go
maybe he wanted to molest u

Me:

lmaoo
thats wat i was thinking later
i dunno he said come
and i said ok
LOL! i don't even know him very well

Him:

lol

Me:

wow.
it's kinda weird
now that I think about it.

Him:

someone likes u :D

Me:

......

As weird as my friend may have thought it would be, it was actually quite fun. This guy had the most awesomest computer EVER. I played Crysis on it at almost maximum graphics, would should get you computer-game obsessed people all wet and sloppy. Then I disgraced all my Asian browders by totally failing at the game (did I tell you I totally suck at all computer games? WTF? I fail as a geek.) Then we went with other peeps and practised accounting and using MATLAB.

Overall it was ok, but painful bits were when we went to play tennis (he invited me; cos earlier I said I played tennis) and then we went to the courts and there was only one free one without a net and BASICALLY he was so good and I sucked MAJOR wang and it was just so embarrasing. *Shamed*. Well he plays for his college so like it wasn't that much disgrace but still. Sigh. Then he invited me to go to the gym with him and I was like cool I'll check it out but after being disgraced at tennis (HAHA i'm so melodramatic) I wasn't in the mood for anymore action so I said I'll call it a day.

He's a nice guy. White as. LOL!! Is that racist to point out? There's apparently a less proportion of white people at my uni then the other unis in Sydney, and especially with commerce, it's a very Asian dominated course (Chinese, Indonesians, Indians, etc.) so I never really interact with many white people. There's this one guy I did talk to (besides dorm-guy). He's such a dick. Gah. But he's smart. Super GAH.

Anyway, I really want to join the gym, I want to get healthier! I'm such a fat-ass. OK FINE I CONFESS I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT HEALTH I JUST WANNA BE FREAKIN' HOT HOT HOT! *Ahem*. But it's intimidating, a little bit I guess. Time to jump into the deep end isn't it?

Uni. Co-op. Joy.

Have I ever mentioned how joyful life is? I DON'T THINK I WILL ANYTIME SOON. BAHAHAHA. Clearly I am going insane. This is what uni does to ppl. Honestly. Especially lazy people like me who can't be bothered studying at all, but are on scholarships that require distinction averages.

*Sigh*.

My economics lecturer singled out me and 2 of my friends in front of the entire lecture hall. OMG how embarrasing. Just cos we were sitting up the back and talking. Bit deal. She never shuts up herself. Skank.

All people wanna do is drink. That kinda cuts me out of most of their social activities doesn't it? Ah well. I'll just dance around at home. I'm gonna drop out of uni soon and go enrol at the Sydney Institute of the Culinary Arts. I don't think that exists but if I did I would so go and join.

To add to my dramas, now 2nd round Co-op offers are now open, so basically I am honour-bound to apply again and get rejected again. Which would lead to me slitting my wrists and flavouring the earth with my blood.

Tasty.

Here is a little timeline of my relationship with Co-op.

Not pretty.

Now all I have to think of is something creative I've done, a time I've been a leader, a time I've overcome hardship, why I want to fondle my cats, and why God hates me.

Joy.

Economics Exam...

I have a confession to make.

I cheated in my microeconomics exam.

OMG THAT SOUNDS SO BAD.

Well it wasn't pre-mediated cheating in cold-blood!! I swear. Serious! It's not like I stole the exam paper out of the lecturer's office and then wrote all the answers on my forearm and then just copied them down onto the answer sheet!!

[Answers: A B C C D B A A D L O L J U S T K I D D I N G ]

Ok. This is what happened. I finished my exam with 5 minutes to go (completely legitimately, mind you) and then my eyes started to wander around the room. Then I saw that the 3rd last answer of the guy on my right was different to mine. I thought ok, maybe he's just retarded, but then by then my eyes weren't just wandering, they were freakin' slutting around and so I saw about 3 other answer sheets and they all had THAT answer I didn't have so when the announcer person said "One minute left!" I did a spur of the moment thing and changed my answer to the popular majority vote.

Then I was like. Ok. Hmm. Maybe that wasn't such a great idea. I mean, I'm pretty smart y'know? Maybe everyone was retarded like I previously thought. But almighty Maths is superior to me and probability is Maths' illegitimate love child and hence is also superior to me and so according to her Laws of Chances they were right and I was wrong.

So I call up my brother (who's doing honours in economics, mind you) and turns out I had it wrong before and the one I changed it to was right!

WIN!

Yes, its unethical, yada yada, and if I got busted academic misconduct on my record would totally molest me in the future, but hey, life's not fair. And plus it was only one little itty-bitty question...

:)

Uni overload...

Week 2 starts tomorrow. Week 1 was such a blur! I don't remember anything, and totally didn't learn anything. Right now I feel kinda overwhelmed. There's a lot of things I have to do, but no-one to guide me through it properly (could ask my siblings of course LOL). All these tutorial questions, assignments, presentations (ALREADY?!). It's such a weird load on my shoulders. I am OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE when it comes to being organised, so all this chaos is making me even more agitated and just all-out fuglified.

Recently something really strange happened. I've started to really, REALLY like the taste of coffee. Like seriously. Before a few days ago I was a typical adolescent total coffee hater. Hated the smell of it, the taste , the bitterness, everything! And now (omfg) I'm totally addicted. It TASTES SO GOOD! I think its a kindness from the Lord; once uni started He knew I would need the caffeine. Haha.

*Slurps coffee.*

(Not a good idea at night mind you.)

My first week has been rather strange actually. When I was walking to the bus-stop to go to Central station, this old man collapsed next to me and had a seizure. NO JOKE! Like a full on epileptic/old-person kind of shaking like crazy thing. I WAS SO SCARED!! I called the uni-emergency line but they didn't pick up (I was thinking WHAT THE HELL?) and so I called the emergency number (which is 000 in Australia). It was my first time ever calling the emergency number! It was cool/scary at the same time.

Maybe I should have taken a first aid course in high-school.

In other news, I had to be part of a photoshoot with other scholarship students. It was so freakin' random. Imagine sitting on the main pathway with 5+ other ppl as this crazy chick jumps up and down and takes photos of you and screaming "LAUGH! YES LAUGH! YES JUST LIKE THAT!! PRETEND YOU'RE TALKING TO HIM!! YESSS!! AH AH YES YES!!"

My uni reputation has been destroyed.

*Printer hums as I print out tomorrow's lecture notes...*

STARTING UNIVERSITY

ARGH!! UNI IS SO WEIRD!! SAVE ME!!

Well. It's not so bad. It's just so weird. Very different to high school. They should have prep courses for students. Seriously! Some kiddies might not be able to cope! I'm lucky I have a few friends from high school in the same course or else I'd be totally suicidal. So many people in these lectures and weirdos in tutorials; SO WEIRD.

The subjects I'm talking this semester (see, I know uni jargon now!) are:
  • ACCT1501 - Accounting & Financial Mgt 1A
  • ECON1101 - Microeconomics 1
  • FINS1612 - Capital Markets & Institution
  • MATH1151 - Maths - Actuarial & Finance 1A

This is a picture I took at the back of the accounting lecture. WHAT A BORE! Accounting is a nightmare. The lecturer was a Kiwi and he kept on droning on and on. Terrible. So I took out my food and started eating, contrary to uni policy. *SHOCK HORROR*!

"Accounting & Financial Management 1A"

So much walking. The campus is so bloody huge. I'm huffing and puffing everytime I walk into a lecture hall. I hate that! I'm always lateee and you gotta squish in between people you don't know and who you're not really in the mood to socialise with. And the transport! AH! The pain of having to take public transport everyday. *Sigh*. I would have loved to live on campus. But the only people who do are the international students and those who come from interstate. It's just not worth it if you live like an hour away. But the problem is that you never really get a chance to meet people.

Hmmm. I should join the tae-kwon-do club or something. Or the anime society! I already joined the chocolate society. LOL!

Maths and economics are good. Accounting and finance are death by boredom. Textbooks are so expensive I haven't even bought them yet. Course notes alone cost $50 each. Jeez. I'm so broke!

Sigh.

University!

I am now officially a university student! I just enrolled online into my 5 year commerce/economics degree at the University of New South Wales. It's so exciting. I can't wait to start. Not so much because of the degree (LOL) but more of the new experience of university. I wonder what it's going to be like...

I HAVE A JOB!!

Yes! Bow down to me NOW! I am clearly superior to all of you unemployed PLEBIANS!! Muahahaha! Ahem. After years and years of terrible self-esteem destroying degrading job-hunting I have finally got a job. I'm typing this now from the computer at my desk. It's so COOL.

Basically my brother is a research assistant at UNSW and I'm his assistant. Well, unofficial assistant. Technically I'm not allowed to be in this building. I was in the tea-room making a cup of tea and the EVIL-ADMIN lady came up behind me and started interrogating me. It was SCARY. She asked me who I was, what I was doing in this building, etc. etc. and I made up so much bullshit up on the spot but she kinda suspected it and went and told my brother. LoLLers.

My brother heaps most of his dirty work on me; I gotta sort through a CRAP load of data. It's amazing. I didn't know a ".txt" file could be a few gigabytes in size. They contain just INSANE amounts of data about markets and lots of crap I don't know about but eventually will. Like bid-ask prices and stock indices and the SP100. My brother's boss (his lecturer actually) has a 2 terabyte hard-drive under his desk. Wows.

At least I'll get lots of monies. $20/hr! SO kewl.

MY BRAIN HURTINGS.
